Courtland – Edward J. Sturgeon, 72, passed away on April 16, 2018, in Courtland Healthcare Center. Born on June 3, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY, he is predeceased by his wife Theresa Grace Elliott Sturgeon and granddaughter Winnifred Pauline Williams. Mr. Sturgeon was a Vietnam Army veteran and a member of the Eagles Club.

Mr. Sturgeon is survived by three grandchildren Christina Aletras Beuchert, Pennie Leight, and David Matthew Aletras; seven great-grandchildren Brianna Aletras Dunn, Samantha Hancock, Brandon Leight, Jordan Williams, Calliya Williams, Vinson Beuchert, and Logan Aletras; and a very large extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 26, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1 PM at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk. www.wrightfuneralhome.org .
