Carrsville – Edna C. Carr, 97, passed away April 19, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, John Putman "J.P." Carr, Jr., her son, J. Nelson Carr, and son-in-law, George Harcum. Born in Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Dollie Spivey Carr. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Nancy C. Harcum; daughter-in-law, Debra "Sissy" Carr; four grandchildren, Barry Harcum (Lori), Denise Walters (Josh)
Sherry Barnette (Kevin), Chris Carr (Jessica); nine great grandchildren, W.N. Minga, Devin Walters, Ashley Minga, Ben Harcum, Cole Barnette, Logan Walters, Jared Walters, Kendall Carr and Wyatt Carr; two sisters, Marjorie Herlich and Kathryn Shifflette ; brother , Thomas L. Carr; special caregiver and friend, Sonja Sherrin and caregiver, Patricia Sherrin; her special pet, Jill, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday April 21, 2012 in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Tim Webb and Ron Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Colosse Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Kevin and Sherry Barnette, 6629 Old Myrtle Rd., Carrsville, and suggest memorials may be made to Colosse Baptist Church or the Carrsville Volunteer Fire Dept.
