Carrsville- James Edwin Jones, 87, passed away August 31, 2016. He was born in Cleveland , VA a son of the late John Robert and Anna Thompson Jones. Mr. Jones was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the Virginia Dept. of Corrections after 33 years of service. Eddie was a member of the local VFW and American Legion.

A loving husband and father, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Mary Louise H. Jones, three sons, Jimmy Jones (Vanessa), Tony Jones, Tracy Jones (Fran), one brother, Bill Jones, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Eddie was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Sam and Stanley Jones and two sisters, Gladys Ross and Betty Malkus.

A funeral will be held at 2PM Friday, September 2, 2016 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
