Ed
Spivey
Jan 14, 1963 — Feb 7, 2021
COURTLAND – Edward Hudson Spivey, also known as Big Red, Eddie, and Uncle Bubblegum, found his healing in the arms of his Lord on Sunday morning February 7, 2021. Born in Franklin on January 14, 1963, he was the son of the late Edward "Doc" and Lizzie Spivey. He worked with Jerry D. Rose, Inc. his entire life and made many lifelong friends through his job. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, yet he worshipped with the Lord each morning as the sun rose over his job. He was a past member of Delaware Hunt Club, and in his earlier years spent hours with Erin in the woods as they played with the dogs and explored nature.
Left to cherish his love of life, are his wife of 35 years, Susan Young Spivey; his daughter Erin Rollison Spivey Chesson, son-in-law Tyler Chesson, and precious granddaughter Daphne Rollison Chesson of Wake Forest, NC; his sister Cathy Spivey Mendola and husband Pete of Clayton, NC; his sister-in-law Susan C. Little of Oviedo, FL.; his logwoods family – Jerry Rose, Stephanie Blythe, Davis Rose, and countless others; his Young family; and a host of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Sheldon D. Little.
Celebration service will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Tyler Chesson officiating. Please make contributions in his memory to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or online at www.cancer.org or to your favorite charity. Covid-19 precautions will be observed (facemask and social distancing).
