Franklin – Stuart "Dwight" Blythe, 75, Dad, Granddad, and Friend, passed away peacefully November 26, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was a long time resident of Franklin. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Elmo Urquhart Blythe and Elsie Mae Howell Blythe, and a son-in-law, Robert C. Inman, III.
Left to cherish his memory are his 5 children, Kim Blythe (Lynnette) of Grandy, NC; Holley Inman (Chris Nance), Jonathan Blythe (Carson), Benjamin Blythe of Franklin, and Madison Blythe of Suffolk. He was grandfather of 3 grandchildren, and 2 step grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Harold Blythe (Nancy), Chester Blythe (Genni Steadham); 2 sisters Cheryl Hansford (Jim) and Joan Cobb; and many nieces and nephews.
Dwight was a 1964 graduate of Franklin High School, attended Chowan College, served in the US Army, and was retired from Union Camp (International Paper) for over 30 years of service.
At his request, his body was donated to Research for the advancement of Medicine.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when all parties are able to assemble freely.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to American Heart Association, or the Charity of your choice.
