Henrico, NC – Dwayne Everett Hickman, 56, passed away March 29, 2021 in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

Dwayne was born in Lynchburg and grew up in Richmond, VA.  He was a graduate of L. C. Byrd High School in Richmond.  Dwayne never met a stranger and was the life of the party.  He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan and loved Lake Gaston.   He was a beloved son who loved life and he will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 21 years, Bobbi Sublett Hickman; his parents, Adrian Edwin Hickman and Kitty Wood Hickman of Ashburn, VA; a brother, Drew Hickman and his wife Shari of Leesburg, VA and their four daughters, Hannah, Caroline, Sara, and Rachel; his mother-in- law, Barbara Sublett; and his beloved dog, Jackson.

Dwayne is predeceased by his father-in-law, Ray Sublett.  His mother and father-in-law thought of him "as the son they never had".

There will be a Celebration of Life at Lake Gaston at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made in Dwayne's name to Warren County Animal Ark, 142 Rafters Lane, Warrenton, NC 27589 or Rainbow Rescue, Lake Gaston, 54 Dog Pound Rd., Halifax, NC 27839.
