Courtland, VA – Dorothy Virginia Hedgepeth Wilson, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents Annie P. and George D. Hedgepeth and a sister Josephine H. Hancock.
Dot was an active member of Courtland Baptist Church, which she served in many capacities for many years. She attended Fannie Webb School of Business, worked at Union Camp Corp. and as a legal secretary in the area for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Woodrow Wilson, a son Dr. John Branton Wilson and wife Karen, and grandson, Jonathan Andrew Wilson of Houston, a daughter, Lisa Wilson Crum and husband Rock, of Rocky Mount, N.C. and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Courtland Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
