Carrsville - Dorothy Darden "Dot" Perry, 77, widow of Dennis Elmer Perry, Jr., died February 20, 2008. Born in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late Whittie Lee and Elsie Price Darden. Mrs. Perry was a sales clerk at Murphy's, Peoples, and Maxway Stores, and more recently, a greeter at Wal Mart. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Golden Age Club, and a volunteer for the Isle of Wight County Fair. Mrs. Perry was a member, Sunday School teacher, and choir member at Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Eleanor P. Schwartz, Rhonda A. Perry, Donna P. Outland and husband, Carl, two sons, Dennis M. "Mike" Perry and wife, Lisa, Charlie E. "Chuck" Perry, all of Carrsville; one sister, Audrey Ann Carr of Suffolk; one brother, W. L. Darden, Jr, of Franklin; eight grandchildren, Russell Schwartz, Bryce Perry, Barrett Perry, Lyndsay Outland, Taylor Outland; Danielle Lambert, Matthew Lambert, and Rebecca Lambert; and extended family, Curtis, Beth, Ashley and Brock Faison.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Faison and the Rev. Jay Gunn officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
