Zuni – Dorothy Downs Cobb, 93, went home to be with her Lord on November 18, 2024.  She was born on March 7, 1931 to the late Don Edmund and Roberta Downs.  She was predeceased by her husband John and her siblings, Oren, Hellen, Nellie, Edna, Butch, and Sandy.

She is survived by her children Morris (Linda), Nancy (Mike), Juanita, Dennis (Theresa) and Teresa (William); her grandchildren, Jimmy, Holly (Les), Amy (Will), Jonathan, Rachel (Chris), Stephen, Morry, Betsy, Carol (Neil), and Sandy (Bobby); great grandchildren, Blake, Chelsea (John), Whitlee, Logan, Emily, Ethan, Aaron, Payton, Conner, Ethan, Ava, Jillian, Miranda, Roman, and Silas; a great great grandson, Parker whom she adored; two sisters, Mary and Susie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a school nurse for many years finally retiring from Windsor Elementary in 1991.  She loved the Lord and was an active part of Antioch Christian Church for over 50 years.

The family will be at the home of Teresa and William Byrd at 35006 Brookside Ct. in Franklin.  There will be a visitation at Wright Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 6 to 8PM.  Burial will be private at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Peninsula Rescue Mission, 3700 Huntington Ave., Newport News, VA 23607.
