Doris "Dottie" Braswell Wright, 62, a former clerk of Smith Jewelers,
passed away January 15, 2008 at the East Pavilion. A native of Suffolk, she was predeceased by her parents, Mills Surrell and Ethel Bradshaw Braswell and a brother, Gilbert Braswell.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughter, Frances Nicole "Nikki" White and husband, Mike, of Elizabeth City, NC; her grandson, Dale White; step-granddaughter, Kayla White; former husband and devoted caregiver, David E. Wright, Jr., and wife Lou Ann, of Franklin; step-sons, Keith, Kevin, and Steve Wright and their families; two brothers, Autry Braswell and wife, Debbie, of Carrsville, Wayne Braswell and wife, Debbie, of Zuni; nieces and nephews, Brenda and Kilby Rawls, Sandy and David Huband, Pat and Ronnie Mason, M. A. Braswell, Charlotte Braswell, Rita and Marty Porter, Chris and Kim Braswell, Melissa and Todd Gravely; best friends, Barbara Warren and Ruth Ann Goff; and a host of many others.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Van Niel officiating. Interment will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
