Courtland – Donny Reed Bass, 70, passed away August 28, 2014. He was a son of the late Wilbur Lewis and Lola Mason Blythe Bass and was predeceased by his brother Wilbur Lewis Bass, Jr. Mr. Bass was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was a retired Boiler Room Fireman at International Paper.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Bruno Bass; two daughters, Sheila B. LaFevers of Courtland and Diane Harper of Ocean City, MD; two sons, Reed Bass of Newport News and Harrell Harper of Ocean City, MD; two sisters, Marilyn Crowder and her husband, Tommy, of Newsoms and Glenda B. Blythe and her husband, Joe, of Franklin; one brother, Charlie M. Bass and his wife, Peggy, of Courtland; and four grandchildren, Alease Harper, Justin Bass, Kaitlyn LaFevers and Wyatt LaFevers and two great-grandchildren Austin Deshazo and Ryan Deshazo.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyle Green officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home. Wright Funeral Home is assisting the family. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
