Capron- Donnie Carter Porter, II, 41, passed away February 18, 2021. Donnie was born in Franklin and raised in Newsoms. He was brought up in the Newsoms Baptist Church and was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, baseball, riding 4 wheelers and going to Lake Gaston in his spare time. He was a dedicated, die hard, Washington Redskins fan, but his favorite pastime on weekends was grilling rib eyes with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Krystal Porter, his parents Donnie and Linda Porter, two daughters, Briana Marie Porter, Aurora Storm "Stormy" Porter, one son, Bryce Tyler Porter, and three step children, Ashlyne Marston, Devin Marston, and Brayden Marston.
Donnie was predeceased by his grandparents, Harvey and Mary Helen Porter, Sr., and Bynum and Ellen Cook.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM , Monday, February 22, 2021 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Tom Wallace and Pastor Danny Dillon officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Newsoms Athletic Association.
