Franklin – Donald Elijah "Donnie" Joyner, 72, passed away August 28, 2021.   Born and raised in Franklin, he was the son of the late Elijah "Buster" Joyner and Thelma Branch Joyner.

Donnie was a graduate of Southampton High School and Virginia Tech where he received a degree in Animal Science.  He was a farmer and a cattleman.  Donnie was a former employee of the Virginia State Department of Agriculture.  He attended Bethel Friends Meeting and was a member of the Black Angus Association.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister Nancy J. Snidow (Vince) of Newport News and numerous cousins.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Rosemont Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Blythe officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Rosemont Cemetery, c/o Mildred Branche, 32306 Vicksville Rd., Franklin, VA 23851, Sedley Fire Department, or Hunterdale Fire Department.
