Courtland – Donald Lee Gay, 71, passed away January 8, 2024 in his home with his family by his side.  Born in Suffolk on June 25, 1952, he was a son of the late Charlie Lee Gay, Jr. and Inez Bencil Allen Gay.  He was also predeceased by his wife, Patricia Babb Gay, and two sisters, Jeanette Grizzle and Janet Bradshaw.

Donald was a retired painter for Metro Machine Works.

Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Ward (Jamie); a twin brother, Ronald Lee Gay; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ward, Tory Ward, and Wesley Ward; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery in Suffolk.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
