Franklin–Dillon Stanford Joyner, 26, went to be with the Lord, December 31, 2018. Dillon was a native of Franklin and was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. As a child, Dillon was a member of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and played baseball for Sedley, Newsoms, and Hunterdale in the Southampton-Sussex Baseball League. Dillon loved baseball, Nascar, the Baltimore Ravens, dancing, fishing, cornhole, his friends, and his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving parents Roland Lee and Brenda Carpenter Joyner, his brother, Roland Lee Joyner, Jr., three aunts, DD Turner, Barbara Donovan, and Beverly Carpenter, and many cousins and friends, and his beloved dog and best friend, Sampson.

Dillon was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Ernest Carpenter and Betty "Nanny" Baker, and his paternal grandparents, George "Pop" and Evelyn "Maw" Joyner.

A funeral service will be held at 7 P.M., Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Wright Funeral Home, with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and after the service in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Dillon to Partners Among Cats and Canines (PACC) c/o Becky Lowe, P.O. Box 1133 Franklin, VA 23851.
