Newport News - Dennis Dickens Bryant, 68, passed away on February 18, 2025 in his home. Born in Franklin VA, on March 28, 1956, he was a son of the late Harry Flood Bryant and Elizabeth Hancock Bryant.

Dennis was a graduate of Tidewater Academy and went on to study English Literature, Biology, and Spanish Language at Hampden Sydney College. He completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration at Trinity College and worked for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for 30 years before his retirement in 2011.

Dennis left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and a deep appreciation for life's simple joys. He had a passion for gardening, antiquing, and collecting. Whether tending to his plants or exploring flea markets for hidden gems, he found beauty and value in everything. He will be deeply missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Nancy B. Marks, his brother Larry Bryant, special nieces and nephews, Carly (Charlie), Alex, Keith (Kayla), Melanie, Ivey, a great-niece and great-nephew, Dylan and Sheppard, and many cousins and dear friends.

Services will be private and the family suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
