Newsoms – Dennis Thomas "Buckwheat" Bryant, 64, passed away July 30, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg. A lifelong resident of Southampton County he was a son of the late Raymond Davis and Eunice Ferguson Bryant. He was a graduate of Southampton High School and farmed all his life. He was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church and Newsoms Hunt Club.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter Krystal Anne Bryant and Krystal's mother Carol Harris, one sister Cynthia Bryant Cobb, one brother R. Davis "Bubba" Bryant, Jr. and his wife Andrea "Diddle" and nieces and nephews, Brandi (Lee) Francis, Angie (Sam) Pelley and Katelyn, Brittany and Cole Cobb and great nephews, Ben and Jake Francis and two aunts, Hannah and Nellie Bryant and his beloved dog Hobo.

A graveside funeral will be held at 11AM Thursday August 3, 2017 at Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Nathan Decker officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday August 2 from 7 to 8:30 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to your local Rescue Squad or Fire Department. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
