Boykins – Denise Johnson Edwards, 59, passed away January 20, 2024 in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. Denise was a lifelong resident of Boykins and was the daughter of the late Leo and Jo Ann Johnson.

She was a 1982 graduate of Southampton High School and was a member of Boykins Baptist Church. Denise was a former waste water treatment plant operator in Boykins.

Left to cherish her memory is her wife, Kathy Wiggs, step son, Steven Ray Wiggs, Jr. and wife Jessica and granddaughter Katie Rose, sister in laws, Donna Stevenson her husband Robin and Judy Layne, brother in law, Jerry Griffin his wife Hanna, nephews, Eric and Sean Stevenson, niece, Heather Layne and great nieces, Skye DeBause and Cheyenne Simmons.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 27, 2024 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Pastor Brooks Gayle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and suggests donations be made to Wright Funeral Home to help pay funeral expenses.
