Courtland - Dean Russell Jester, Sr., 76, flew on eagle's wings to heaven on October 2, 2011. Born in South Bend, Indiana to the late Russell Jester and Evadean Emerick Jester, he was predeceased by his wife, Frances Kay Jester, and his brother, Gene Jester. A loving father and grandfather, his passion was ballroom dancing which he taught for over 25 years at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. He also enjoyed his time fishing and collecting eagles.
Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Dean Jester, Jr. (Roxanne) of Courtland and Steven Anthony Jester (Anne) of South Bend, IN ; two brothers, Larry Jester and James Jester, and his granddaughter, Brooke.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm in the fellowship hall of Courtland Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Courtland Baptist Church. The family has asked, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Dean Jester Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 178, Courtland, VA 23837. Wright Funeral Home is assisting the family.
