Boykins – David Alexander Day, III, 85, passed away June 22, 2023 at his home. David was born in Murfreesboro, NC, the son of the late David A. Jr, and Janet Benthall Day. He was also predeceased by a son, Patrick B. Day.

David was a 1954 graduate of Murfreesboro High School and attended Chowan College and Atlantic Christian College. He was an Army veteran and former National Guardsman.

He was a retired manager for Zayre Department Store in Gloucester Virginia after like positions in similar stores throughout the East Coast. He was a member of Murfreesboro Baptist Church and attended Boykins United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Constance "Connie" Carlton Day, three sons, David A. Day IV (Terri), Adam S. Day (Marina), Richard "Rick" Z. Day (Ellen), daughter in law, Erica Day and Six grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held at 2PM Thursday June 29, 2023, in Boykins United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Jordan and Pastor Michael Baugham officiating. A reception will follow at the church. The burial will be at 12:30 PM in Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro. Memorial donations may be made to Boykins United Methodist Church or Murfreesboro Baptist Church. Wright Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements.
