Zuni – David Dow Arendell, 83, widower of Darla Rae Wood Arendell, passed away September 17, 2021 in his home with family by his side.   Born in Joplin, Missouri on July 1, 1938, he was a son of the late Raymond Douglas Arendell and Myrtle May Meade Arendell.  He is also predeceased by a son, Raymond Douglas Arendell and a sister and a brother.

David was a 20 year Navy Veteran and a pipefitter for several shipyards.  He enjoyed fishing and got the most enjoyment from helping others.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Agnes Marie Arendell (Mark James); his son, Dwight David Arendell (Summer); and three grandchildren, Ashton Ray Arendell, Cody Raymond James, and Darla-Ann Marie James.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 11AM, Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Poe officiating.  Memorial donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans, 139 S Saratoga St, Suffolk, VA 23434.
