Franklin – Dallas Clifton "Cliff" McWaters, Jr., 78, passed away November 29, 2025, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, Portsmouth, with his family by his side. Born in Newport News and a former resident of Chesapeake, he was the son of the late Dallas Clifton McWaters, Sr., and Mary Irene Broderick. A graduate of Old Dominion University, he was the former owner and operator of Computer Information Services of Chesapeake. Cliff was an accomplished bowler, golfer, and fisherman, with the latter being his favorite. He was an active member of the Franklin-Southampton Jaycees for several years, a member of the National Association of Tax Preparers, and attended Oak Grove UMC in Chesapeake.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44 ½ years, Katherine Vaughan McWaters; a daughter, Dawn Reed Gunn; a son, J. Mark Reed; a sister, Julie Atkins (Carey); three grandchildren, Celia Gunn Sadler (Lundy), Jason Marvin Gunn (Desiree), and Hillary Gunn White (Brad); and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Sheila Wilkes, and a son-in-law, Marvin Gunn, Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 4, 2025, in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Poe officiating. Burial will be in Capron Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Funeral Home.
