Zuni – Cynthia Yvonne "Cindy" Askew, 67, passed away April 18, 2026 in her home.  Born and raised in Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert Randolph Edwards and Loretta Wilson Edwards.  She was also predeceased by her husband, John Melvin Askew.

Cindy received an Associates Degree from Paul D. Camp Community College and worked for a packaging plant.  Cindy and John loved to play music together.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Wilbert Mack Reid (Breahna); a step-daughter, Melissa Askew Potts (Brian); a step-son, Brandon Keith Askew; seven grandchildren, Shawn, Breydan, Sky, Tonya, Brian Jr., Tristyn, and Malakai; and three great grandchildren, Michael, Kehlani, and Lucianna.

Services will be private.
