Suffolk- Claude Elmer Lassiter, Jr.,77, passed away May 25, 2016 at Sentara Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, he was a son of the late Claude and Ruby Jones Lassiter and was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Keech Lassiter and a brother, Robert Lassiter.

Mr. Lassiter was retired from American Sheet Metal Company and was a former Virginia National Guardsman and a former member of the Holland Hunt Club.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Dana L. Kinsey (Bobby) of Suffolk, Donna L. Calimlim (Nelson) of Burke, two sons, Keith Lassiter (Suzzie) of Windsor and Kevin Lassiter (Lisa) of Suffolk, two sisters, Onella Lassiter and Katherine Cutchins (Rochelle) all of Franklin and one brother, Glenn Lassiter of Suffolk and nine grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 3PM Saturday May 28, 2016 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8PM and suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
