Obituary

Ivor – Clarence E. Unser, 78, loving, devoted, and remarkable husband, father, and grandfather went to heaven on April 28, 2007, to be with the Lord and to be reunited with his beloved wife, Mary Martin Unser. A native of Norfolk County, he was a son of the late Albert and Freda Unser and an active member of St. Jude's Catholic Church since 1962. Clarence was an Army veteran and a retired dairy farmer.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen U. Cobb and husband, Tomlin, of Windsor, Claudia U. Everett and husband, Michael, of Courtland, Mary U. Shifflett and husband, Gerald, of Disputanta; four sons, Eric E. Unser and wife, brenda, of Virginia Beach, Jeffrey M. Unser of Ivor, Jerome G. Unser and wife, Teresa, of Zuni, Joseph P. Unser and wife, Stephanie, of Ivor; one sister, Margaret Quist of New York; two brothers, Vernon Unser and wife, Margaret, of Chesapeake, Edward Unser of Suffolk; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two loving caregivers; and seven cats. Mr. Unser was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Unser.
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a. m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Wright Funeral Home with Fr. Carl DeSouza and Fr. Charles Saglio officiating. Interment will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Catholic Church, 1014 Clay, St. Franklin, Va. 23851 or Ivor Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 228, Ivor, Va. 23866.
