Obituary

Suffolk – Clarence Calvin Clark, 85, passed away March 30, 2023 in Consulate Healthcare of Windsor.  Born in Easley, SC and raised in Carrsville, he was a son of the late Anderson Henry Clark and Annie Jones Clark.  He was also predeceased by his wife, Effie Vick Clark; four sisters, Lydie Howard, Mattie Roach, Bernice Beale, and Myrtle Darden; three brothers, Willie Clark, Carl Clark, and Rufus Clark; and a grandson, Brandon Cortez.

Clarence was a graduate of Holland High School and was a veteran of the US Air Force and the US Coast Guard.  He was a pipefitter at Newport News Shipyard for 12 years and Norfolk Naval Shipyard for 24 years.  He was a member of Farmers Hunt Club and Joyner Hunt Club.

Survivors include three daughters, Deborah Lynn Hall, Janet Leigh Bleiler (Bobby), and Cheryl Ann Boone; a son, William Calvin Clark; a brother, Henry Clark; seven grandchildren, Christina, Ashley, Amber, Christopher, April, Tiffany, and Amanda; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11AM Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Warren Johnson officiating.  The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad.
