Courtland – Charles Clifton "Chuck" Baker, III, 57, passed away November 25, 2021 in his home.   He was a life-long resident of Southampton County and attended Southampton Academy.  Chuck was a former member of Courtland Volunteer Fire Department and was a die-hard Atlanta Braves fan.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Betty Ann Baugham Baker of Courtland; his sister, Betsy Baker Finley and her husband Scott of Raleigh, NC; a niece, Katie Anne Finley of Cullowhee, NC; a nephew, Duncan Scott Finley of Orlando, FL; and a devoted uncle and aunt, Bobby and Margaret Baugham of Sedley.  He is predeceased by his father, Charles Clifton "C.C." Baker, Jr. and his grandparents, Charles Clifton Baker, Sr. and Bessie G. Baker and Robert E. Baugham and Carrie G. Baugham.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Michael Baugham officiating.  The family will receive friends at their home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Courtland Vol. Fire Department or Courtland Rescue Squad.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of VCU/MCV Hospital in Richmond for the years of extraordinary care, love, and friendship especially Dr. Peter Boling and Dr. Ananda Pandurangi.
