Chris Onslow Gibbs, 55, died January 14, 2008. He was born in Tomah, Wisconsin, and was a retired Captain with the Virginia Department of Corrections.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sarah Gillette Gibbs; his mother, Kathleen Thomson Gibbs of Midlothian; three daughters, Dana M. Gibbs of Petersburg; Kelli C. Gibbs, of Colonial Heights; Jessica B. Gibbs of Courtland; one son, David C. Gibbs of Courtland; two sisters, Cheryl Gibbs of Chesterfield, his twin sister, Connie Honeycutt of Midlothian; one brother, Craig Gibbs of Palmyra; and three grandchildren, Ashlyn, Lauryn, and Nathan. Chris was predeceased by his father, Onslow Windley Gibbs.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm Friday at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. James W. Browder, III, officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 pm at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to VCU Massey Cancer Center, Palliative Care Unit, P. O. Box 980214, Richmond, Va. 23286-0441.
