Franklin – Chester Crawford Griffin, Jr., 77, passed away December 9, 2025 in his home with his family by his side.  Born in Portsmouth and raised in Franklin, he was a son of the late Chester Crawford Griffin, Sr. and Venita Goodrich Griffin.

Chester was a 1966 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Chowan College.  He served in the US Air Force for four years and retired from International Paper with 37 years of service.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Donna Spence Griffin; his daughter Natalie Griffin O'Neill and her husband Terry; a sister, Darlene G. Dunlow and her husband JL; and Gary Griffin and his wife Diana; and two precious grandchildren, Allison Schaefer and Danielle Schaefer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
