Suffolk – Charlie Clifton Daughtrey, Sr., 84, passed away January 17, 2017 at the East Pavilion in Franklin. Cliff was a native of Nansemond County and a son of the late Charlie Exum Daughtrey and Effie Clara Bradshaw Daughtrey. He was also predeceased by a brother, Raymond B. Daughtrey.

Cliff was a graduate of Holland High School, and a member of South Quay Baptist Church. He was a longtime farmer and co-owner of Evelyn's Peanuts.

A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Parker Daughtrey; one son, Charlie Daughtrey, Jr (Nell), two daughters, Linda Eure (Ritchie) and Jean Hall (Gary); grandchildren, Jeremy Daughtrey, Nathan Eure (Sarah), Josh Eure, Andrew Hall and Ashley Hall; a great grandchild, Ethan Daughtrey, and a sister-in-law, Evelyn C. Daughtrey.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 3 PM at South Quay Baptist Church, 9617 South Quay Rd., Suffolk, VA, with Rev. Wade Bennett and the Rev. Amos Eby officiating. The burial will be private.
