Charles David Butler, Sr.

Carrsville – Charles David Butler, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026 in his home. Born and raised in Isle of Wight County, he was the son of the late Jake and Clara Boyette Butler and is also predeceased by his wife, Nellie Ellis Butler.

Charles was a US Army Veteran, retired from Union Camp Corporation after 32 years of service and was the former owner of Butler Repair Service. He was a 30 year member and past Commander of VFW Post #4411, past Governor of the Franklin Moose Lodge, former Chief of the Carrsville Fire Dept., and former member of the Central Hill, Windsor, Carrsville and Community Hunt Clubs. Charles enjoyed playing country music with several bands in the area.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Patricia Ann Holland (W.H.) and Linda Faye Butler; two sons, Charles D. “Hotshot” Butler, Jr. and Albert J. Butler; four grandchildren, Brandon Lee Butler (Sabrina), Angel Anderson (Galen), Ricky Rautenkranz, and Krystal Ann Holland (Tracey); six great grandchildren; a dear friend, Susan Moore; and his former wife, Mildred Keaton.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Thursday, September 17, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Drew Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors and VFW Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests memorial donations be made to Carrsville Volunteer Fire Dept. or VFW Post #4411.
