Courtland - Charles James Arrington, III, passed away on July 9, 2025 at the age of 61. He was a native of Southampton County and the eldest child of Jacquelyn Cogsdale Arrington and Charles James Arrington, Jr.  Chuck was a graduate of Southampton Academy and Hampden-Sydney College.

Chuck was born in Newsoms and spent his first three years there.  He grew up in Courtland and, also, lived in Richmond, Charlotte, and Virginia Beach during his lifetime--Sandbridge Beach held a special place in his heart.

Chuck was a unique and competitive guy who loved games, his favorite foods, sports, nature, and burning debris in his fire pit.

Left to cherish his memory are his mom, Jackie Arrington, and brother, Kevin Lee Arrington.  He was predeceased by his father, Charles Arrington, Jr. and Chuck's dog, Sinbad.

An informal memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27th at 4:00 PM at Wright's Funeral Home in Franklin with the Reverend Chuck Cassidy officiating.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.  Donation information can be found on their website or by calling 1-800-342-2383.
