Franklin – Charles Jesse Akers, Sr., 77, passed away February 14, 2019 in Sentera Virginia Beach Hospital.  Born in Oakhill, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Akers.  Charles was also predeceased by his wife Claudia Ann Akers.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother Bertha Boyer Compton; two sons Charles Jesse Akers, Jr., and Larry Akers; a daughter Laura Akers Case (Michael); three sisters Anita Givens, Bertie Watson and Rona Morris; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
