Franklin – Celeste Spence Phillips, 76, passed away February 10, 2025 in her home.  She was born in Conway, NC on August 5, 1948 to the late Otis Eugene Spence and Lillie Mae Warren Spence.  She was also predeceased by her husband, William Alexander Phillips, Jr.

Celeste was a graduate of Northampton County High School in North Carolina and Chowan College.  She worked at Georgia Pacific from 1968 to 1985 and retired from Union Camp Corporation as a customer service specialist in the particleboard department with twenty years of service.

Left to cherish her memory is a son, Brian Spence Phillips of Franklin; three sisters, Linda Nash and her husband, Paul, of Greenville, NC, Pat Hedspeth of Raleigh, NC, and Donna Griffin and her husband, Chester, of Franklin; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.
