Obituary

Swanee, GA – James Cecil Pinner, 76, former resident of Franklin, passed away August 31, 2020. Cecil, as he was known by, was predeceased by his parents James and Mary Pinner.

Cecil was a retired Electrician from Planters Peanuts in Suffolk, Va.  He served in the US Civil Air Patrol and was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy for over 40 years.  Cecil was a kind-hearted gentleman and a craftsman. He hand-crafted guns, refinished furniture, and participated in shooting competitions.  He loved Blue Grass music, relic hunting and collecting civil war artifacts.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Dianne Bartlett Pinner of Suwanee, GA; his children, Tonya Pinner of Summerville, SC, and her children, Richard and Nicole Bailey; James "Jimmy" Pinner (Robin) of Boykins, VA. and their children, Chelsea Twisdale (Pete) and James "Chandler" Pinner; Cecil "Lyn" Pinner (Jennifer) of Boykins, VA. and their children Patrick and Wyatt Pinner; and Lindsay and Austin Agnew Pinner of SC.; Robert "Craig" Pinner of Summerville, SC, and his daughter, Victoria Fulton-Pinner; a step-daughter Holly Bartlett-Burns (David) of GA and her children, Max and Kayla Cohen; a step-son, Michael Bartlett (Sun) of Fredericksburg, VA and his children, Alexander, Jessica, Christopher, Jacqueline and Joshua; a sister, Patricia Bailey (David); five great grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.

A private memorial service was held Sunday, September 6 th at the home of Jimmy and Robin Pinner.  Wages and Son's Funeral Home and Crematory in Stone Mountain, GA will be handling other arrangements.
