Conway, NC – Catherine Porter Pope, 84, passed away December 30, 2018.  Catherine was born in Newsoms, VA to the late Amos and Lily Vick Porter and was also predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Paul Thomas Pope, Sr., a sister Mattie Fuller, and two brothers Buck and Roy Porter.  She was a 1954 graduate of Newsoms High School and a member of Conway Baptist Church.

Catherine is survived by children Paul T. Pope, Jr. (fiancé Mary Floyd), Amos Haley Pope, Susan P. Umphlett (Pete), and Nancy P. Woodard (Ben); one sister Jackie F. Hobbs; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews

A funeral service will be held at 2PM Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Wright Funeral Home, Boykins with the Rev. Willie McLawhorn and Rev. Jayson Rowe officiating.  The burial will follow in Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday in the funeral home and suggests that Memorial Donations be made to Conway Baptist Church.  www.wrightfuneralhome.org
