Franklin- Rev. Carter L. Dey, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior February 4, 2021. Rev. Dey was born in Aulander, NC and was the son of the late Harry Conrad and Sophia Carter Dey.

He was a graduate of Mid-America Baptist Seminary and earned a Bachelor of Divinity Degree from South Atlantic Bible College and Seminary. He was an Army Veteran and had pastored churches in Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Virginia for 42 years and preached for 50 years. Most recently he was the pastor of Wakefield Baptist Church and was the former pastor of Wilroy Baptist Church

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 31 years, Gail McDaniel Dey, a daughter Erin Pedersen and her husband Rick of Nashville, TN, two sons, Ron Dey and his wife Keri of Conway, AK, and David Stewart and his wife Carly of Walters, VA, one sister, Mary Cobb and her husband Milford of Suffolk, VA, 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Pedersen, Kimberly Pedersen, Parker Dey, Peyton Dey, Emily James, Nicholas Stewart, and Zachary Stewart.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a private family funeral with military honors will be held in Wright Funeral Home, with Mr. Andy Powers officiating. There will be a private burial at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607
