Carrsville – Carroll Francis Bowles, 74, passed away June 5, 2011 at Norfolk General Hospital. He was born in Murfeesboro, NC, a son of the late Linwood and Neva Mae Benson Bowles and was predeceased by his wife, Mollie Harrell Bowles, a brother, Bobby Bowles, step-mother, Patience. Carroll was a retired correctional officer with the Virginia State Department of Corrections in Walters. After retirement, he drove for Hancock Peanut Company.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Sylvia B. Stephenson and husband, Russell, and Debbie B. Rapp and husband, Val, all of Windsor; and five grandchildren, Valarie, Tiffany, and Kendal Rapp and Craig and Rebecca Stephenson; and a special nephew, Larry Bowles.
The funeral will be conducted at 7 pm Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with the Rev. Shirley Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
