Courtland – Carrol Edward Fowler, Jr., 78, passed away July 3, 2025 in Sentara Obici Hospital.  Born and raised in Franklin, he was a son of the late Carrol E. Fowler, Sr. and Burnell Galtress Fowler.

Carrol was a graduate of Franklin High School and had worked for Southampton Cutting Industries for many years.  He was an avid gardener and naturalist and cared about the future of the planet.  Carrol enjoyed fishing and cooking, especially organic vegetables.

Left to cherish his memory is a daughter, Vanessa Fowler Hilton of Florida; a brother, James "Jimmy" Fowler and his wife Nina of Franklin; and several nephews.

Carrol was very proud to donate his body to science.   Services will be private.
