Capron – Carolyne Pretlow Holland Bryant, 80, passed away February 8, 2023 at East Pavilion surrounded by her family. Born in Franklin and raised in Murfreesboro, she was a daughter of the late Joel Cook Holland, Sr. and Violet Spence Holland. She was also predeceased by her former husband, Gillette Thomas Bryant, Jr.

Carolyne was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and attended Chowan University and VCU where she was a member of the VCU Madricals, a former local singing ensemble in the Richmond area. She was a teacher's assistant at Riverview Elementary in Murfreesboro and a former personal care assistant.  Carolyne, also known as "Mimi", was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She never met a stranger.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Kira B. Wright (Keith) of Franklin and Jennifer B. Drake (Tim) of Capron; a son, Gillette T. "G.T." Bryant, III of Courtland; a beloved sister, Martha H. Tomlinson of Grimesland, NC; two brothers, Joel Cook Holland, Jr. (Kay) of Murfreesboro, NC and Robert P. Holland (Marlene) of Louisburg, NC; four grandchildren, Taylor Fox, Joel Fox, Gavin Bryant, and Ethan Drake; a niece that was more like a daughter, Marna Davis Noe; and dear friend, Holly Newsome (mother to Gavin Bryant).

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM Sunday, February 12, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

The family would like any memorial donations to be made to the Capron Fire and Rescue Squad.  Carolyne's family would like to extend its sincere gratitude for all the loving support received by family, friends and the staff of Bon Secours-Southampton Medical Center and East Pavilion.
