Ivor – Carolyn Ellis Eanes, 77, passed away July 4, 2023 in Sentara Obici Hospital. She passed away on her 59th wedding anniversary. She was a native of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Horace G. and Doris Johnson Ellis.

Carolyn was a graduate of Southampton High School and attended Lenoir – Rhyne University in Hickory NC. She had retired as a secretary in the Student Counseling Center at Lenoir – Rhyne University. She loved her garden and flowers. She was a Baptist

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Albert Clay Eanes, two daughters, Michelle Green (Stephen) of Whispering Pines NC and Melissa Eanes of Raleigh NC, two grandchildren, Cody Michael Green and Bailey Anne Green, two sisters, Patricia Ann Fairbanks (Ted) of Williamsburg VA and Audrey Louise Ball (Tom) of Lake Como FL, one brother, Horace Dean Ellis (Terrie) of Georgia.
