Newsoms – Carol Ann Dutkiewicz Saffell, 70, passed away July 31, 2014, at the home of her son in Colerain, NC. She was born in Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Raymond and Doris Anna Stopfer Dutkiewicz and was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Gary Dean Saffell. Carol was a member of Franklin Church of God.

Survivors include three daughters, Pattie Barnette and Connie Lafferty and husband, Bryan, all of Nashville, NC and Dan'iel Saffell of Chesapeake; one son, Rev. Gary Saffell and wife, Michelle, of Colerain, NC; one sister, Helen Mae Dutkiewicz, of Chalfont, PA; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Franklin Church of God with the Rev. James Ashby and Rev. Gary Saffell officiating. Burial will be private next to her husband at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
