Franklin – Robert Carlyle "Carl" Wood, 51, passed away on May 5, 2022 in his home with family by his side after a three year battle with cancer.

Carl was a 1990 graduate of Franklin High School and a carpenter/painter for Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  He was a former owner of Wood Consulting Group and a former Deputy Sheriff in Patrick County.  Carl enjoyed riding ATV's in West Virginia and was a general "fix it" guy.  He had owned over 51 vehicles in his lifetime, a real wheeler and dealer.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Pamela Raiford Wood; his parents, Phillip and Jane Wood; a son, Rylee Dean Wood; a brother, Creg Wood (Christy); his father and mother-in-law, Ed and Irene Raiford; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved pets, Jasper, Gunner, and Walter.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Monday, May 9, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Wright officiating.  The family will receive friends at the residence after the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
