Raleigh, NC- Candace Ann Bass Franklin, 66, passed away April 20, 2016 at UNC Rex Health Care in Raleigh. Candy was born in Southampton County and was a graduate of Southampton High School and Radford University. Candy was a loan officer for Southeastern Mortgage Company in Raleigh.

She was predeceased by her parents, Roy Lester Bass and Mable Estes Bass Staples and a brother, Ronald Wayne Bass.

She leaves behind one aunt, Emily Bass of Courtland, VA, many cousins and many friends and her two beloved dogs, Jake and Ladybug.

A graveside service will be held at 2PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Riverside Cemetery, 22416 Main St., Courtland, VA with Dr. Robert Carpenter officiating. A reception will follow at Courtland Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA, Sheltie Rescue or any favorite charity.
