Murfreesboro, NC- Brenda Blythe Hand, 72, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, VA. She joined her beloved husband of 53 years, Tillman V. Hand, Jr., who passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016. Mrs. Hand was born November 14, 1943 in Franklin, VA, a daughter of the late Stafford Emmett and Myrtle Lee Overby Blythe, and was also predeceased by a brother, Bert Blythe. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Suffolk, VA.

This loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, leaves three daughters, Brenda Louise Hand of Charleston, WV, Jannet Darlene Baggett (Foy) of Franklin, VA, and Vanessa Hand Dixon (Herb) of Youngsville, NC, a sister, Juanita B. Sydnor (Ernest) of Boykins, VA; a brother, Horace W. Blythe (Barbara) of Franklin; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn King, Matthew Duane Ward, Ashley Leigh Stover, Norman Van Hand, Kenneth Ryan Baggett, Tyler Connor Dixon, Evan Taylor Dixon, Foy Webster Baggett, III, Madison Nicole Dixon, Kelly and Dan Baggett; six great grandchildren, Joei and Tyler Ward, Piper and Atticus King, Raylynne Grace Baggett and Adalynn Rose Stover.

The funeral will be conducted at 2PM today, Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, VA with the Rev. Ben Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Southampton Memorial Park.
