Franklin – Baucom "Bob" Hinson, 75, died March 26, 2007 at his home. He was a native of Monroe, N.C., and a son of the late Pink Sylvester and Lillie Baucom Hinson. A retired Naval
Officer, having served over twenty years in the U.S. Navy including the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, he was also a retired Franklin City employee after 23 years as Director of Personnel, Planning and Community Programs. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Charleston, S.C., Union Killwing Masonic Lodge No. 4 A.F.A.M., Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Shriners Temple, Franklin Shrine Club, Franklin VFW Post 4411 and American Legion Post 73.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Z. Hinson; daughter, Therese Hinson of Virginia Beach; son, Paul Hinson and wife, Nancy, of Franklin; sister, Pat Stafford of Monroe, N.C.; brother, Folan Hinson of Bolling Spring, S.C. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Baucom Hinson, three sisters and five brothers.
A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin VFW Post 4411 Building Fund or to a favorite charity.
