Franklin – Robert Leroy "Bob" Baum, 73, passed away January 4, 2019. Bob was born in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Byram Baum and Olive McCullough Baum. He was an Army Veteran during Vietnam. Bob was a graduate of West Liberty State College and the American Bible College and held a Doctorate of Divinity and Theology Degree and a BA Degree in Accounting. Bob was the former Pastor of Oasis in the Desert Church in Franklin and was an Ordained Minister at Kingdom Life. He was the Director of The Hope Center (of Kingdom Life) that was responsible for feeding over 1,200 people a month and started the first inhouse Bible College in Virginia at Deerfield Correctional Facility where he was the professor. Most importantly he witnessed and led many people to Christ.
Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years Ginger Revelle Baum; five sons David (Liz), Stephen (Kerry), Michael (Mitzi), Eric (Portia), and Jonathan; two brothers Thomas (Deborah) and Bill; and thirteen grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM Monday, January 7, 2019 in Kingdom Life on Delaware Road in Franklin with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating. The Burial will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church and a reception will follow the service in The Hope Center on South College Drive. The family suggests that Memorial Donations be made to Kingdom Life for The Hope Center, 26151 Delaware Rd., Franklin, VA 23851. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
