Suffolk – Blanche Elizabeth Levinson Whitley, 61, went to be with the Lord January 6, 2011. She was born in North Carolina, moved to Portsmouth at an early age, then moved to Suffolk, which was her home. Mrs. Whitley was predeceased by her parents, Martin and Mary Baggett Levinson and a sister, Lona Holland.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, of 27 years, Jimmy Whitley; three children, Cindy Madray, Adrian Simmons, and Donna Turner and husband, Perry Turner, Jr.; and seven grandchildren, Henry "HC", Mandy, Chris, Destinee, Billy "JR" Tre, and Ben.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dillon officiating. Interment will follow at Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 5349 E. Princess Anne Road, Norfolk, VA. 23502.
