Newsoms – Billie Sunday Lassiter, 73, passed away January 7, 2022 in his home.    Born and raised in Newsoms, and a former resident of Franklin and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, he was a son of the late Edwin Joshua Lassiter and Kathleen Wall Bryant.  He was also predeceased by two sisters, Veronica Cook and Martha Jane Lakes, and a brother, Bobby Lassiter.

Billie enjoyed arrowhead hunting, antiquing, and feeding the squirrels.

Left to cherish his memory is a sister, Sylvia Anne Pope of Newsoms; two brothers, Charles E. Lassiter (Susan) of Newsoms and Edwin J. "Ease" Lassiter, Jr. (Kathy) of Ahoskie, NC; a special aunt, Olethia "Tinks" Taylor of Eure, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

At Billie's request, there will be no service.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
