Beverly Hope Williams Guiles of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina passed away on December 18, 2017. Born in Petersburg, Virginia on February 8, 1964, and reared in Courtland, Virginia, she is the daughter of Zeannette Roberts Williams and the late Gene Wesley Williams. She is survived in death by her husband of 14 years Michael V. Guiles; her sister Courtney Williams Bitar of Manassas; her sister Jennifer Lynn Williams Roca and husband Dr. Adam J. Roca of Alexandria, their two children, nieces Isabella and Vivian; and brother Gene Wesley Williams, Jr., his two children, nieces Taylor and Katelyn. In addition to her immediate family, she is loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends in Northern Virginia and the Outer Banks, and her Southampton County Community.

She graduated from Southampton Academy in 1982 and continued her studies at Mary Baldwin College earning a Bachelor of Arts in Art Management in 1986. A few years later, she pursued her teaching certification by completing a Master of Science in Business Education at Southern New Hampshire University. Beverly Hope taught business and art at the secondary level for many years in Fairfax County Public Schools. She was the teacher sponsor for the Future Business Leaders of America at both West Potomac and Mount Vernon High Schools. Additionally, she was instrumental in opening the second student-operated Apple Federal Credit Union in the state of Virginia at Mount Vernon High School. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International which is an honor society for women educators; she also served a term as the chapter president. She and her husband Michael moved to Kitty Hawk when he retired as an art teacher from Fairfax County Public Schools. While living there, she was an active member of the P.E.O. Chapter CJ, a philanthropic organization that supports the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, and awards. Furthermore, she discovered a new direction for her artistic passion as she worked in retail design at the French Door in Nags Head.

A memorial service led by the Reverend Andrew Book will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Courtland United Methodist Church.
